A refined sound that is enjoyable to listen to – that is Atlas and Hurd. The story started well before the inception of the brand. It began with two guys, who unknowingly, would cross paths and see the need for an audio brand that marries timeless design with objectively good sound.
Tony Hurd has long been a maker of things, a designer of things, culminating in over 25 years of successful furniture design and manufacturing with Altone Design. Moreover, his signature style is to incorporate modern cabinetry and aesthetics with traditional woodwork. These are the foundations for the ATLAS & HURD style.
STYLE
Mechanical and Electroacoustic Engineer, Atlas Gouverneur has been designing speakers for over a decade, and has extensive experience with The Speaker Project. He believes great loudspeakers aren’t magically created. They come about from rigorous testing to ensure tonal balance mirrors the sound of real-life music. This underpins the Atlas and Hurd sound.
AUDIO ENGINEERING
Atlas and Hurd’s vision is to develop state-of-the-art loudspeakers that combine timeless design with electroacoustic principles. The aesthetics of our speakers are just as important as their sound.
We believe that high quality audio should be accessible and affordable, and that good simple design can generally be a far more enjoyable listen for all varieties of recordings and genres of music – not just high-fidelity recordings.
